For some, it will be the start of the tournament week. For others - the most crucial stage on the road to the main draw. We now know the players who will compete in the Mazovia Open ATP Challenger qualifying rounds in Kozerki for a spot in the main tournament.
The entry list features many experienced players who regularly compete on the ATP Challenger Tour, as well as representatives of the younger generation who are making an increasingly strong mark on the professional circuit. There will also be a Polish presence in the qualifying draw.
Big names from the very first matches
The entry list is topped by Tiago Torres, who was ranked 430th in the ATP rankings at the time of the entry deadline. In Kozerki, we will also see Italy’s Pietro Fellin, Fares Zakaria from Egypt, and Tomasz Berkieta.
The Polish player was directly accepted into the qualifying draw from the 552nd spot in the world rankings. For Berkieta, this will be an opportunity to compete in front of the Polish crowd and fight for a place in the main draw of the Mazovia Open ATP Challenger.
Other entrants include Ilya Ivashka, Frenchman Maxime Janvier, Ergi Kirkin from Turkey, Spain’s Pablo Martínez Gómez, and Mirza Bašić from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Each of them brings experience from international tournaments and could play a key role in the battle for qualification.
International battle for a place in the main draw
The qualifying draw will also feature Imanol López Morillo, S D Prajwal Dev, Dimitris Sakellaridis, Aziz Dougaz, Iliyan Radulov, Melios Efstathiou, Peter Fajta, Leo Raquillet, Yanis Ghazouani Durand, and Amit Vales.
The cutoff for direct entry into the qualifying draw was at ATP ranking 675, promising a highly competitive field from the very first day of play. For the qualifiers, every match will be of particular importance—only a winning streak will allow them to join the players already waiting in the main draw.
The list is rounded out by talented Finn Oskari Paldanius, who received a spot in the qualifying draw as part of the ATP Next Gen Accelerator program. The remaining spots will be awarded to players with wild cards.
On the alternates list are more Polish players: Kacper Szymkowiak, Filip Pieczonka, Marcel Kamrowski, and Kacper Knitter. The final qualifying draw may still change depending on withdrawals and shifts on the entry lists.
The tournament begins before the tournament
Qualifying is often called the tournament before the tournament. This is where players who did not receive a direct spot in the main draw must go through an additional stage of competition. There’s no room for calculations here—every loss means elimination from the event, and every win brings them closer to the most important matches of the tournament week.
For fans, it’s a chance to follow the stories of players from the very beginning—athletes who, just a few days later, may become some of the heroes of the Mazovia Open. In previous years, it has often happened that players starting in the qualifying rounds went on to successfully challenge the top seeds in the main draw.
The first matches in Kozerki therefore promise a fight for much more than just a single match victory. At stake is a place in the main draw, valuable ATP ranking points, and the chance to perform in front of the Polish crowd.
The Mazovia Open ATP Challenger will take place from August 2 to 9, 2026, on the courts in Kozerki near Grodzisk Mazowiecki. The list of players in the qualifying tournament is subject to change.
